SCN8A Family Meetup Grant Application

Picture
The Cute Syndrome Foundation will be awarding a number of grants for SCN8A community members who would like to host an SCN8A Family Meetup in 2020. The standard grant will be made available in amounts of up to $500, with larger amounts considered on a case-by-case basis, funds permitting. These grants can be used to partially or fully fund a local SCN8A Family Meetup. Examples of possible Meetups include, but are not limited to hosting/organizing a regional event such as an outing to a local aquarium or zoo, or a backyard BBQ, or an accessible group activity. We also encourage applying for special group activities, which may or may not be entirely regional in nature.

Be creative! We look forward to reading your ideas!

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, funds permitting. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria: number of families served, event vision, budget, location, need of community members served. Applicants may only apply once per calendar year. Please allow up to one month for your application to be reviewed and approved; expedited reviews may be available on a case-by-case basis. Grants will be awarded as reimbursements for expenses, unless specific approval is granted otherwise.

Funds are not available for parties for an individual child or family, or for individuals outside the SCN8A community. While alcohol may be served at a hosted event, TCSF will not reimburse or pay for alcohol or any expenses not laid out in the application budget.

Please understand that application for a grant confirms your intention to document the event and share photos, descriptions, and other information with The Cute Syndrome Foundation to share on social media, the website, and other promotional materials.
